Residential Program
The Residential component provides separate housing and programming for male and female clients. Residential Treatment provides a protective environment designed to help address the myriad of problems that have developed as a result of their addiction. Without a supportive, protective environment, it is doubtful he/she will be able to abstain from alcohol and/or drugs. It is of equal importance that he/she experiences a period of time when the "outside" stress of daily living is reduced. This allows time to examine their past and present situation, identify problems, and learn various methods of resolving them.
Education is an integral part of the program where clients and individuals affected by their alcohol and/or drug use become knowledgeable regarding the disease concept and recovery principles necessary for continued abstinence. Due to segregation of the men and women, gender specific issues are addressed. Group and individualized therapy provide insight into various attitudes and behaviors while promoting feelings of self-worth and acceptance. During this time, the denial system is dismantled, which allows the surrender process to take place.
