Transitional Residential Program The Transitional Residential Facilities are located near the Primary Residential Facilities on the separate campuses.
The Transitional Residential Program is complementary to the Residential Program. Individuals who lack an adequate recovery-based support system will find that a long-term, supportive, yet less structured environment can facilitate greater stability in their recovery. The separate Transitional Residential facilities are only a few feet from the primary facilities; therefore clients can continue to participate in treatment functions. A variety of services and activities, including onsite and offsite 12-Step Meetings, are designed to strengthen the recovery process, develop necessary life skills, establish positive use of leisure time and prepare the recovering individual to return to his or her home community.
Individuals will be expected to gain or return to employment, while remaining in the Transitional Residential Program. The staff will assist clients when necessary by providing transportation. Clients are permitted to have their own vehicles in this level of care, provided they have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Some clients are employed at Tara’s restaurant training site. This smoke-free family restaurant is a landmark in the community and is 15 minutes from the facilities. The training site is offered for those clients who have an interest in food service, or lack other employment skills.
Through this job training/employment opportunity, clients can identify and process stressors to help prevent relapse.
